Members of the Korean community in Hawaii gathered to hike up Makapuu Point in Honolulu as a gesture of harmony and to renew interest in peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula. The unification hike event has promoted the peaceful unification of the Korean peninsula for 10 years in the local community.In 2020, the hike was conducted individually or by families wearing masks due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event included a photo contest and took place on a pleasant day. We expressed our hopes and dreams of peaceful unification and of South and North Korea joinly hosting the 2032 Summer Olympic Games.
